Jerri A. Harwell
Jerri A. Harwell was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She is the youngest of four (living) children. Her father was Black, and her mother was American Indian (Grand River Band of the Ottawas). Her Indian name is “Wa-Wash- Ka-She,” which means “Baby Fawn.” 
 
She joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1977 and served a full-time mission in the Texas Houston Mission from 1980-81 as one of the first Black sister missionaries who served after June 1978. [read more]

Karyn Dudley
Karyn M Dudley was born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan.

She is the third of four children born to Norman D. Dudley, Jr. and Dolores E. (Gamble) Dudley.

Karyn’s parents joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and were baptized in February of 1973 when she was 6 years old. [read more]

Tarienne Mitchell
Tarienne Mitchell graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Video Production and graduated from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill with a Master’s Degree in Library Science.

She has worked in archives, museums, and libraries around the country including the archives at Wake Forest University in Ohio, The Reynolda House Museum in North Carolina, the UNC Media Library in North Carolina, and the Salt Lake County Archive in Utah. [read more]

Alice Faulkner Burch
Alice Faulkner Burch was born in Oxnard, CA to Cleo & Elwanda Faulkner. She received an Associate’s Degree from Oxnard College. She was baptized into the LDS Church in July 1984. 

While serving as the first African American in the Chile Santiago South Mission, 1987-1988, she and her last  companion were assigned as First and Second Counselors in a Branch Presidency. [read more]
